Filiscore

Filiscore: an itinerary score for the Philippines.

Filiscore is a free tool that analyses a Philippines trip plan and gives it a score out of 100. It does not judge your taste: it measures how feasible the route really is, door-to-door transfers included.

What Filiscore actually does

  • You enter your trip length, your islands and how you move between each stop.
  • Filiscore returns a score out of 100 with the strengths and the weak points.
  • It quantifies the time really spent travelling, door-to-door, not the flight duration.
  • It shows the potential gain: how many days a better-ordered route would give back.

How to read your score

85 – 100
Coherent itinerary. The pace holds, transfers are reasonable, the season works.
70 – 84
A good plan with two or three fixes, usually a stop that is too short or a badly placed transfer.
50 – 69
The trip works on paper but burns a lot of days in transit.
0 – 49
Too many islands, or an order that multiplies backtracking. This is the most common first draft.

The five criteria analysed

Island count versus trip length

The most decisive criterion. Five islands or more within two weeks automatically caps the score — that is logistics, not opinion.

Nights per stop

A two-night stop leaves a single usable day. Filiscore flags stops too short to justify their transfer.

Geographic coherence

Duplicates, north-south backtracking, legs with no direct connection: each one costs half a day or more.

Season

February to June is the most favourable window on the ground, with March and April strongest. September, October and November are the riskiest months for boat trips.

Transfer load

Filiscore adds up real door-to-door times and flags heavy days above six hours of travel.

Why this tool exists

Most itineraries travellers send me have one island too many. That is not poor preparation: distances in the Philippines do not read on a map, and a 55-minute flight often means six hours door-to-door.

I have lived in the Philippines since 2021 and inspect the hotels, islands and connections myself. Filiscore simply encodes the rules I apply when I look at a trip plan: length, distance, season, real transfer times.

The tool does not rewrite your itinerary. It tells you where it breaks and what you could get back. The concrete reorganisation stays human work.

Frequently asked questions about Filiscore

Is Filiscore free?
Yes, entirely free and with no sign-up. You get your score and the detailed analysis straight away.
Does Filiscore reorganise my itinerary?
No. It identifies the problems and quantifies the recoverable days, but rewriting the route concretely is bespoke work done by hand.
What is the score based on?
Five measurable criteria: island count against trip length, nights per stop, geographic coherence, season, and total door-to-door transfer load.
Does a low score mean a bad trip?
No. It means the route spends a lot of time in transit. Most of the time, removing one island transforms the whole trip.

Score your itinerary now

Two minutes is enough. You get your score out of 100, a criterion-by-criterion analysis and the number of days you could recover.
