13–16 day itinerary

A 13 to 16-day Philippines itinerary

Two weeks is the length where you can finally combine two regions. Three islands remain the reference pace: four starts to speed the trip up, five or more makes it heavy no matter how well it is organised.

Why this pace works

  • Three stops of four to five nights: each island gets the time to exist.
  • Two regions only, so a single long connecting transfer.
  • Travel days are grouped, not scattered every other day.
  • Two spare days remain for weather or fatigue.

Islands

3 stops

  • El Nido
  • Coron
  • Bohol

Day-by-day example

Example over 15 days, adjustable from 13 to 16 by shifting El Nido and Bohol nights.

  1. Day 1

    Manila

    Arrival, buffer night.

  2. Days 2–6

    El Nido

Bay boat trip, northern beach day, free day, kayaking or diving.

  3. Day 7

    Ferry to Coron

    Fast ferry crossing.

  4. Days 8–10

    Coron

Lakes at dawn, wrecks, a quiet island to finish the stop.

  5. Day 11

    Flight to Cebu or Bohol

Full travel day, likely connecting through Manila or Cebu.

  6. Days 12–14

    Bohol

Panglao or Anda, Chocolate Hills, snorkelling, one empty day.

  7. Day 15

    Departure

    Airport transfer, international flight.

Transfer times to plan for

  • El Nido → Coron by ferry: 5 to 6 hours door-to-door.
  • Coron → Bohol: this is the real travel day, often 8 to 11 hours door-to-door with a connection.
  • Never put that day right before a booked and paid activity.
  • Bohol → airport: depending on whether you sleep in Panglao or Anda, the drive varies enormously.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Adding a fourth island 'because we have two weeks': it costs one travel day and two half-days of settling in.
  • Putting the long transfer at the end of the trip, when fatigue has already set in.
  • Booking Palawan during its local rainy window without checking the regional weather.
  • Taking an international flight the morning after a ferry.

Possible variations

Palawan only

El Nido, Coron and Port Barton over fifteen days: no internal flight, a very gentle pace.

Visayas only

Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor and one quieter island: short transfers, lower budget.

Surf version

Swap Bohol for Siargao, accepting one extra travel day.

Frequently asked questions

How many islands should I visit in 2 weeks in the Philippines?
Three is the reference pace. Four stays possible when two stops are neighbours, but the trip clearly speeds up. Five or more over fifteen days almost always produces an overloaded itinerary.
Can I do Palawan and the Visayas in 15 days?
Yes, that is the minimum length for the combination to make sense, provided you accept one full travel day between the two regions.
