Domestic flights and ferries: how to move without losing days

10 May 2026 · 6 min read

Three carriers dominate: Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and AirSWIFT. Only PAL includes checked baggage by default, which changes the real price comparison.

Manila's terminals are far apart. A domestic to international connection in Manila needs three hours minimum, and I prefer to break it with a night.

Fast ferries such as OceanJet and 2GO are reliable in the Visayas. In Palawan, the El Nido to Coron crossing is seasonal and cancels in rough seas.

My rule: never two transfers in one day, and never a same-day connection to an international flight.
