When to visit the Philippines: a month-by-month reality check

The Philippines has two monsoons, and they hit opposite coasts. That is genuinely good news: there is always somewhere with good weather.
December to February: cool and dry in Palawan, Boracay and the Visayas. Peak prices in late December.
March to May: the driest and hottest months. Best visibility for diving, best sea conditions for island hopping.
June to September: the habagat brings rain to the west coast. Siargao, Southern Leyte and the Pacific side of Mindanao are at their best.
October to November: transition. Typhoon risk on the eastern seaboard, still generally good in Palawan late in the period.
Typhoons are a real factor from July to November, mostly in Luzon and the eastern Visayas. I track them for every client trip and reroute when needed.
